Part of the country, Barlâd especially, has been devastated by a violent storm 3 days ago. People died, houses were destroyed and the water was cut to most of the population.
Most of you, dear watchers, have noticed (I guess) that Dan hasn't been so active as before. I'm afraid the internet was cut and staff are working on getting it back to normal.

I should have thought of doing this earlier, but I'm doing this now because =ftpaddict just sent me an e-mail telling that it would be nice if I updated the journal for him.
I'm sure that he'll reply to all of his friends and other deviants that are not included in his friends list when he gets his internet back.

First off, shout out to `Tepara


Now here's the deal:

Each one of you who wants to enter is to create a deviation for their favorite operating system, be it Windows , Mac OS , Linux , Symbian, OS/2, PalmOS. (even BASIC)
Anything goes, but it has to abide by the following rules:

entries must be made after September 1st. It doesn't have to be made specifically for this contest. Contestants can enter as many deviations as they like, supporting whichever OS they want.

entries must be located on deviantART, and not somewhere else like youtube or sheezyart (even if it would be nice to see a video of someone supporting their favorite OS. Cheerleaders, anyone?)

entries can be anything you imagine... an ode to iLife, a cool wallpaper that emphasises just how much Windows is better than anything else; anime, literature, digital, traditional, an emote - anything you fancy. Submit as many as you want!

Let me know of your entries in either this journal or through notes, whichever you consider more convenient. All entries will be posted in this here journal and updated accordingly with every entry I receive (if I receive any, that is)

Contest is open until my birthday timer reaches zero.

As most of my closest friends here on dA know that I loathe Mac OS and anything apple:

the winners will be decided by vote. I shall create one or more polls, depending on how many submissions I get. The one who gets the most votes, wins.

I won't go ahead with it unless I get at least two entries for at least two different operating systems. (all Windows 3.1/95/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista are considered to be a single group of OS. Pocket PC is not)

But what are the prizes? You ask...
Sadly, all I can offer you is a feature in my next 5 journals (that means that an average of 700-800 people will see your work), a special place in my signature for the duration of those 5 journals The winner also gets extra 2 inches of e-penis)

If anyone is kind enough to donate a subscription for the winner, we might even extend the prizes for a runner-up, or even for third place. All those who donate shall be in my signature for a pretty long time. (and since I'm a forum whore, that might count a little)

All I'm really after is to encourage people to have fun and be creative, so by all means, be creative.
